When should the homeowner order additional security items?
Most security options must be ordered before the construction of the house begins. Once the sheetrock (drywall) is installed in the home it may be too late to add the additional items. Please contact Superior Security and Sound as soon as possible!

What is the Full perimeter Upgrade?
The Full Perimeter Upgrade is for the customer who wants to have the system armed while they are inside and moving about the home. With this option the motion sensor is deleted. If you walked in front of a motion sensor while the system is armed you would trip the alarm. Instead of a motion sensor all first floor and basement windows are protected with window contacts. Motion sensors are fine if your main goal is to provide security when no one is home. Motion sensors protect property. Contacting the windows does a much better job if your goal is to provide security when people are home.

What is Home Automation?
Home Automation is basically the simplifying of normal, everyday tasks. Examples of home automation are, but certainly not limited to, turning lights and appliances off & on, changing thermostat settings, and automatic arming & disarming of your security system. The automating of these items can happen automatically at scheduled time, happen automatically in conjunction with another event, (when you disarm your security system certain lights come on) or happen from remote instruction via any phone. (Call on your way home from vacation and turn the air conditioning on).

How Does the Home Automation Happen?
The DSC 832 system along with the home automation package provides the platform for home automation to take place. It basically sends commands through the existing phone and electrical wires to modules at various locations in the home. (Utilizes X10 line carrier technology) Every light or appliance you want to control must be attached to one of these modules. The commands can originate from a phone on or off the premises, from a timer built into the alarm system or from an alarm keypad.
